ON-DEMAND WEBINAR
Bowtie Analysis Tools: How Successful Companies Manage Risk

Many EHS professionals struggle with managing workplace risks, whether it’s accurately assessing them, controlling them, or getting the entire workplace involved in the process.

This was evident during the tragic incident that occurred on October 25, 2016, at the Thunder River Rapids ride at the Dreamworld theme park in Queensland, Australia. Four individuals died in that accident, and investigations afterwards revealed that workers had not received adequate training in risk identification and control.

Risk bowties offer an effective way to synthesize information about risk pathways and related preventative and mitigative controls into one easily understood diagram; when done right, they have the power to prepare workers to take action to prevent accidents like Thunder River Rapids. The visual and intuitive nature of risk bowties makes them ideal tools to train workers about workplace risk, and to engage them in the process of mapping out the risk pathways. Risk bowties are a great way to share a common understanding of risks and controls that’s more likely to prevent serious accidents—and to build and sustain a strong EHS culture.

During this 60-minute webinar, VelocityEHS experts Dana Garber and Phil Mole will describe the advantages of risk bowties as a key risk management tool, explain how to build a risk bowtie using modern EHS software, and describe the benefits of having the right data in the right place.

Attendees will learn how risk bowties:

  • Help train employees about workplace risks
  • Contribute to prevention of accidents and better engagement with safety programs
  • Pull together information from many types of risk assessments
  • Enable employees and facility management personnel to visualize and manage risk controls
  • Help organizations manage risks across multiple facilities
  • Contribute to creating a more holistic framework for risk management that easily evolves along with your processes and strategies
